TCI Precision Metals Company Profile

Established in 1956, TCI Precision provides AS9100 / ISO 9001 certified Contract Machining services and precision-cut, Machine-Ready Blanks.

Contract Manufacturing
Across the country, TCI delivers repeat runs of consistently high-quality machined parts to exact customer specifications. Sending TCI a single P.O. for material, machining, heat-treating, plating, and other specialized requirements can reduce the number of vendors and processing.

Custom-configured work cells consisting of HMCs, VMCs and CNC Turning Centers shorten lead times and reduce inventory. Cells allow material to be moved from process to process, eliminating delays during the hand-off between operations and departments. TCI agile and flexible enough to create multi-discipline work cells to accommodate regularly repeating contract machining.

Customers can order smaller lots of parts with faster and more frequent deliveries, without batch and queue, because of TCI’s lean production machining cells. They streamline processes and cut waste, which also shortens lead times. For example, instead of tying up cash and space with a single lot of 100 parts, order four lots of 25 parts with Just-In-Time delivery.

With a work envelope as large as large as 30" in Z, 77" in Y, and 166" in X, Viper VMC bridge/gantry mills and large multi-pallet Mazak HMCs make quick work of your large part requirements. Large turned parts, up to a 36" swing and as long as 80", are made on Mori Seiki and Haas CNC turning centers.

TCI machines customer-furnished stock, such as castings, forgings, plate, sheet, and bar stock. TCI is an aluminum warehouse distributor for Alcoa, Kaiser, and Hulamin. Whether customers or TCI furnishes stock, customers can concentrate resources on their core competencies while TCI handles the entire part – turnkey.

AS9100 / ISO 9001 certification, means TCI’s quality management, processes, and product quality systems ensure that customers in all industries receive the same consistent quality from the first part to the last.

TCI Machine-Ready Blanks
TCI Machine-Ready Banks feature consistently tight dimensional, flatness, squareness, and parallelism tolerances, eliminating the need for second operation fixtures and simplify clamping. All TCI machine-ready parts are inspected before shipping and scratch-resistant package allow them to be loaded from receiving dock into machine tools without costly and time-consuming secondary operations. Guaranteed dimensional tolerances, flatness, squareness, and parallelism tolerances held to +/-0.0002.

Available in most materials or customer-provided stock, the blanks are processed using double-disc grinding, Blanchard grinding, duplex milling and sub operations, such as flattening, deburring, and surface improvement. TCI Machine-Ready Blanks dramatically reduce labor costs, leading to lower overall part costs and greater operational efficiency. As much as 20% of labor costs and 15% or more of the overall part cost can be saved.

TCI maintains extensive premachining and machining capabilities including:

  • Blanchard Grinding to 120" swing
  • Double-Disc Grinding to 625 sq. in.
  • Duplex Milling to 12" x 84" x 84"
  • Precision Sawing up to 6" x 144" x 144"
  • CNC machines available to help off-load secondary machining operations
